A nice effort from the Jimmy Jerkens-trained Corinthian in the sixth, a 1 1/8 mile allowance. The 3-2 favorite stalked along the rail into the far turn, then swung out four wide to challenge Jazil, who briefly took the lead from the pace-setting Throng. Corinthian outgamed him to win by three-quarters of a length. Throng, the morning line favorite trained by Todd Pletcher, tired in the stretch and finished sixth without excuses after setting soft fractions of :23.9 and :48.5 through the first half.
