Isadorable Stakes

Suffolk Downs opens its turf course this Saturday with race three, the Isadorable Stakes, a six furlong event for Massachusetts-bred fillies and mares. Glory Be Good, winner of last year's Isadorable, returns, as do Ask Queenie and African Princess. Glory Be Good looks as though she may repeat -- like many of the other starters, she's coming off a long layoff, but with a steady workout record. Ask Queenie will be tough competition, and Stylish Sultana, who made her debut at Suffolk last summer and raced at Laurel over the winter, may surprise with a third place finish.

Results: The opening of the turf course was delayed because of all the recent rain, and the Isadorable was run on the dirt. Glory Be Good took the early lead and looked like she might wire, only to be nipped at the end by Ask Queenie. African Princess moved too late and finished third. Stylish Sultana was fourth.
