- Big Brown Won't Race at Four

And if he loses the Preakness, he's out of the Belmont. What makes me think if he loses the Preakness, that's it for his career?

- Posted by Ernie Munick, May 14, 2008 9:47 PMOne of the forums says it will be Three Chimneys Farm. Too bad, but didn't everyone know Big Brown would never race at four.
Jess Jackson needs to buy more of these horses so we can see them race at four.
- Posted by Josh, May 14, 2008 10:37 PMIf it's Three Chimneys, oh, the irony! They bred Eight Belles.
- Posted by Valerie, May 14, 2008 11:46 PMI can't imagine it being anyone but Coolmore.
While I'm not thrilled at the prospect of Big Brown categorically not racing at four, I applaud Ivarone's honesty about the situation. It was a welcome respite from previous years where fans got strung along that so-and-so might return next year, etc.

I rather read 20 postings by Internet Black Jack than watch the Ivarone press conference.
No joke: The premature retirement depresses me more than any other issue. I am a helpless, sleepless pawn.
I hate that I can't be an all-in Big Brown fan now. If the Belmont were today, I think I'd be rooting against him. And that kills me because I love the horse.
The game needs him to win Saturday. After that...all bets off. I might pick him, but I'm removing his tattoo from my chest.
Of course I'm not surprised---happens nearly every year, Our sturdy breed, our steely future.
I'm just a dummy; my wide-eyed naivete off-shoots from these blind love crushes and I keep falling hard. Stupid, hopeless, sleepless pawn.
- Posted by Ernie Munick, May 15, 2008 4:08 AMQuick! We need his connections to have their assets seized. It worked for Curlin!
