"I'm glad he ran a good race," trainer Barclay Tagg said after Funny Cide was beaten 1 1/2 lengths by Sir Greeley. "This wasn't his ideal distance and this was a real salty race. I'm just pleased he showed some life."The race, an allowance, was Funny Cide's first start in many months after a dismal 2005 campaign, in which the now six-year-old Kentucky Derby winner ran five times and finished out of the money in each.
